Jack DeMenliffe did not care for Petre TamPloneil, not one bit. Since his retirement from Dylarina's Interstellar Navy, Jack had immersed himself in being the captain of the sleek and swift DFM(H) CORSAIR GOLDFIRE and left Petre to mind his own affairs.
But they had served together in the Navy's CARC special-warfare force, which meant they were bonded as sworn “Teammates” for better or worse. So when Petre dies under violent circumstances on the Rhacathée System, and his family is targeted by criminal torturers, Jack's former commanding officer persuades him to find out who gave the orders and “take them out” with extreme prejudice. For any other 'operator' it would be the height of foolhardiness, but it's the kind of adventure Jack lives for and needs almost as much as food and drink.
Sheathed in the persona of a professional killer with a vicious reputation, Jack brazenly shoulders his way into a simmering conflict which is rapidly coming to a boil. Stoking the furnaces are:

Destroyer DeMenliffe marks the major publishing debut for Jim Lowerre, who has been writing creatively since his elementary school years. A technical communicator by profession, he is also an amateur sumo wrestler who is the current United States grandmasters’ heavyweight champion under the sumo name “Yukikaze”. He and his soulmate Lorinda call Orange County, CA their home.
